The Ondo State House of Assembly has commenced the screening of commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, announced the start of the exercise during Wednesday’s plenary session held in Akure, the state capital. He said the screening follows official communication from the governor requesting confirmation of the nominees.

Oladiji explained that the process would span three days—beginning today, continuing tomorrow, and concluding on Monday—and would be conducted in phases at the Assembly chamber.

He also disclosed that the Committee of the Whole House, under his leadership, would handle the screening. Nominees were instructed to appear with their credentials and 40 copies of their curriculum vitae.

The House Majority Leader, Oshati Olatunji, had earlier moved a motion to refer the governor’s letter to the Committee of the Whole for detailed consideration. He assured that the Assembly would ensure a thorough and transparent screening.

The exercise is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. each day. Governor Aiyedatiwa had, on June 12, submitted 12 names for confirmation as commissioners to serve in the State Executive Council.

The nominees include Sunday Olajide, Amidu Takuro, Olaolu Akindolire, Igbekele Ajibefun, Oluwaseun Abosede Osamaye, Wale Akinlosotu, and Ayodele Akande. Others are Tob Loko, Idowu Ajanaku, Alabi Johnson, Ayorinde Abiola Olawoye, and Omoyofunmi Segun Henry.
