Ondo Attorney-General mourns passing of civil rights icon Jesse Jackson

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, has expressed his condolences over the death of American civil rights activist Jesse Jackson.

His condolence was contained in a ten-paragraph piece titled, “A Beacon of Hope and Justice Who Transcended Borders.”

Reverend Jesse Jackson died earlier today in the United States at the age of 84.

Describing the deceased as “a leading African-American voice reverberating across the globe,” Dr. Ajulo noted that the activist impacted nations through his powerful message of justice and equality.

He also revealed that Jackson, a two-time U.S. presidential candidate, left a lasting impression on his life, including inspiring his decision to pursue a degree in Politics and Media at Harvard University.

“He spoke poignantly of the long, arduous journey through Black history and the transformative power of the media. ‘Master the Narrative,’ he urged, ‘and your own sunrise will come.’ Those words ignited a passion in me that drove me to pursue a course in Politics and Media at prestigious Harvard University; a direct result of that profound exchange,” Dr. Ajulo wrote.

Concluding his piece in a section titled “A Lasting Impact,” the commissioner stated that Reverend Jesse Jackson lived a life well spent and prayed that his soul be granted eternal rest.
