Ondo government gives ₦500,000 medical aid to ailing woman

The Ondo State Government has presented a cash support of ₦500,000 to an ailing woman, Mrs Adetimileyin Adekemi, under the O’Datiwa Cares Initiative as part of efforts to improve the welfare of vulnerable residents across the state.
The financial assistance, facilitated by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, followed a request submitted by the beneficiary, who is battling a severe medical condition affecting one of her legs.
According to the ministry, the application underwent a thorough assessment and verification by its Welfare Department before the intervention was approved. It added that more than ₦3 million had been disbursed in recent weeks to individuals in need of medical, welfare and educational support.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the First Lady, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye, said the intervention reflected the administration’s commitment to compassionate governance and the welfare of vulnerable citizens.
Osamaye said the Aiyedatiwa administration remained committed to restoring hope and improving the quality of life of residents facing health and socio-economic challenges. She added that the support would provide immediate relief while the ministry continued to monitor the beneficiary’s condition in collaboration with the Ministry of Health for further medical interventions.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Kolawole Kayode, described the gesture as another demonstration of the government’s resolve to provide timely assistance to residents in distress and strengthen social protection programmes across the state.
Responding, Mrs Adekemi expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa, the First Lady and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, describing the financial assistance as a lifeline that would significantly ease the burden of her ongoing medical treatment.
The O’Datiwa Cares Initiative is a social intervention programme of the Ondo State Government designed to provide medical, welfare and educational assistance to vulnerable residents requiring urgent support.
