Ondo orders businesses to register, gives one-month deadline

The Ondo State Competition and Consumer Protection Agency has directed all businesses operating in the state to register with the agency within one month or face sanctions.
The agency said the registration was mandatory for all business operators in the state, adding that the process was free and would not attract any registration fee.
In a notice signed by its Executive Chairman, Oluyemi Fasipe, the agency urged business owners to use the one-month grace period to obtain their official ODCCPA Registration ID and certificate.
Fasipe warned that businesses that failed to register within the stipulated period could face sanctions, including fines prescribed under the relevant law.
According to the agency, the registration process had been designed to make compliance easier for business operators, as the entire exercise could be completed through its online platform.
The agency therefore advised operators to take advantage of the grace period instead of waiting until enforcement begins, stressing that registration was both compulsory and free.
It said compliance monitoring would commence after the expiration of the one-month deadline, with businesses that failed to register exposed to penalties applicable under the law.
The ODCCPA urged all business owners in the state to complete the registration within the stipulated period and obtain the required identification and certificate to avoid sanctions.
