The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State suffered a setback on Thursday as a prominent member, Hon. Moses Olusola Enuebuke, popularly known as Oba Bombay, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oba Bombay was formally received into the APC at a well-attended gathering of party leaders from both the state and local government levels.

Leading the reception was the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, alongside a former lawmaker, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, also known as Amaechi.

Welcoming the defector, Adetimehin described Oba Bombay as a seasoned politician with deep grassroots connections. He said the move, coupled with the defection of his supporters, would further consolidate the APC’s strength in Akure North and across Ondo State.

The event also drew the Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, the APC local government chairman, Hon. Eleti, and other party chieftains.

A former three-time commissioner in the state, Hon. Saka Ogunleye Yusuf, was also present, as party supporters turned out in large numbers.
