The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly operating an illegal clinic in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, identified as Idris Nasiru, was apprehended on January 14 during an intelligence-led operation carried out by the command’s surveillance team.

Items recovered from the suspect’s shop included injection needles, medical drips, bandages and other medical equipment suspected to have been used in providing unauthorised medical services.

Police operatives also searched his residence with a duly obtained warrant, where used injection bottles, syringes and needles were reportedly found.

Preliminary investigations showed that Nasiru is not a registered medical practitioner, confirming that the clinic was being operated illegally, the police said.

Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended the operatives for the arrest, stressing that intelligence-driven policing remains key to tackling crimes, including medical-related offences.

Lawal assured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious medical practices to the police.
