Ms Abayomi was arrested for allegedly killing a 17-year-old boy, Mohammed Jamiu, on May 28 in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was paraded at the state police headquarters on Tuesday.

Narrating what led to the death of the boy, the accused said she had gone to fetch water when she saw Jamiu and his friends with three Hausa girls fighting and appealed to the girls to let go of the boys.

She said after the girls had left, Jamiu and his friends came to meet her and said they had been monitoring her all day.

She said: “I told them that I no longer have anything against them and that when I had issues with them was when I was pregnant, and after I gave birth, I had let them be.

“They insisted that I should go and call my soldiers, that they are now ready for the case and that they will fight me.”

The police command in the state has assured a thorough investigation will continue on the incident while the culprit(s) will be made to face justice.
