One dead, many injured in Lagos building collapse

In a devastating incident in Lagos State, a woman has reportedly lost her life, while numerous others escaped injured, when a three-storey building partially collapsed on its occupants.
Reports indicate that the tragic incident occurred on No. 5 Alli Street in the Ita Faaji area of Lagos Island, as the building collapsed shortly after a spell of rainfall across the state, catching many residents unaware.
However, as at the time of filing this report, the identity of the deceased remains unknown.
Emergency response teams, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Lagos State Fire Service and Rescue Service, rushed to the scene to rescue survivors trapped in the rubble.
Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire Service and Rescue Service, confirmed that the collapse was sudden, with the balcony of the building giving way, leading to the tragic loss of life and injuries.
