One Management responds to Darkoo’s allegations against Mr. P

One Management, the agency managing Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, has addressed allegations of sabotage leveled against the artist by rising star Darkoo.

Over the weekend, Darkoo accused Mr. P, a member of the defunct P-Square duo, of attempting to sabotage her latest musical project, which sampled P-Square’s hit song, Gimme Dat.

In a statement, One Management dismissed Darkoo’s claims as baseless and malicious, suggesting they were a deliberate attempt to gain publicity. The firm noted that Mr. P only advised Darkoo to follow proper channels for obtaining clearance to avoid intellectual property disputes and to ensure all stakeholders within the P-Square brand were involved.

“Darkoo’s claims are unfounded and appear to be an effort to sensationalize a professional matter,” the statement read. “She seems to be capitalizing on the perceived P-Square feud for clout and popularity.”

According to One Management, Darkoo initially approached Mr. P for clearance to sample Gimme Dat. She claimed the track was gaining traction on TikTok. Mr. P advised her to seek clearance through proper channels and shared details of his own management to facilitate communication with the administrators of P-Square’s catalog.

However, Darkoo and her team allegedly bypassed this process and sought clearance from an unauthorized entity. The project later encountered complications, prompting Darkoo to return to Mr. P for assistance.

Despite the setbacks, One Management revealed that Mr. P helped resolve the matter by ensuring the proper agreements were executed and that all stakeholders in P-Square were carried along. Following this resolution, the video was reinstated on the video-sharing platform.

One Management further clarified that the terms of the agreement were modified to include all relevant parties, and the initial 50% split requested was not for Mr. P but was based on a prior arrangement made by the unauthorized entity.

The statement criticized Darkoo’s decision to publicly accuse Mr. P of sabotage, noting that she had sought his help privately but later launched a smear campaign after the issue was resolved.

“Mr. P has always supported younger artists and insisted on global standards in business practices. It is unfortunate that Darkoo has chosen to misrepresent his intentions in this matter,” the statement concluded.
