Former President Muhammadu Buhari has passed vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu, congratulating him on the milestone of completing his first year in office.

A statement released on Tuesday by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the former president, said Buhari called for unity and togetherness as ingredients necessary for national development.

Buhari appealed to the citizens to give their blessings and support to the Tinubu administration, so that it can succeed in its efforts to build the Nigeria of our dreams.

The former President also urged all Nigerians to continue fostering the values and to extend their full support to the Tinubu administration, emphasizing that such cooperation is crucial for the administration’s success in realizing the aspirations of the nation.

The relationship between Buhari and Tinubu has been notably significant within Nigeria’s political landscape as both leaders are prominent figures in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

Buhari, who served as president from 2015 to 2023, was a key figure in Tinubu’s rise within the party, with the latter playing a pivotal role in the formation and consolidation of the APC, which eventually brought Buhari to power.

Their alliance has been instrumental in shaping the political direction of the country, with Tinubu’s influence seen as critical during Buhari’s tenure.

Buhari expressed optimism for Tinubu’s tenure, hoping for a successful and transformative period of governance that would fulfill the dreams and potential of Nigeria.
