Ooni of Ife hails Karim Adeyemi for humanitarian service

The Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has lauded Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi for his exceptional humanitarian contributions through the Karim Adeyemi Foundation.

The Ooni made these remarks during a visit by the footballer and his family to the palace in Ile-Ife on Wednesday.

Welcoming Adeyemi and his parents, His Royal Majesty commended the young star’s dedication to uplifting society.

“I’m truly proud of your kindness and efforts,” the Ooni said. “Using your foundation to create a brighter future for others is highly commendable. I encourage you to maintain this spirit of humanity. Thank you for making a difference; you make us proud.”

The Ooni further urged Adeyemi to remain steadfast in his charitable endeavors, emphasizing the importance of positively impacting lives.

In his response, Karim Adeyemi expressed gratitude for the warm reception and shared his commitment to giving back.

“I’m honored to be here with my parents,” Adeyemi said. “My primary mission is to support society through the Karim Adeyemi Foundation and to nurture young football talents via the Adeyemi Football Club. I remain dedicated to making a difference.”

Adeyemi’s father, Mr. Abiodun Adeyemi, popularly known as “Baba Abe,” also expressed gratitude to the Ooni for his hospitality.

“On behalf of my family, we thank you for this warm welcome,” he said. “Karim has never forgotten his roots, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to give back to society.”

Karim Adeyemi’s visit to the Ooni’s palace was part of his annual trip to Nigeria. Earlier in the week, on Monday, December 23, he arrived in Ibadan, his ancestral hometown.

On Tuesday, December 24, he attended the grand finale of the Adeyemi Under-15 Football Championship at Olubadan Stadium in Ibadan.

Before visiting Ile-Ife on Wednesday, Adeyemi also commissioned several community development projects initiated by his foundation in Oje, Ibadan.
