Ooni, Simba TVS Group empower 150 women on tricycle riding

…as beneficiaries get N4.2m cash gift
Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, through the Queen Moremi Ajasoro Initiative, in conjuction with the Simba, has empowered 150 women with tricycle riding.
The beneficiaries known as Queen Rider who were drawn from different communities in Ile- Ife were trained on how to ride tricycle for about three weeks.
Oba Ogunwusi, while congratulating the beneficiaries gave cash gift of N3.45m to five persons who excelled during the training programme and N750,000 to three persons who were wounded during the training programme.
He also gave N5m to be deposited into the cooperative society opened for the riders.
The monarch who called on other organisations and corporate bodies on the need to empower women said that women have been proven to be very dependable and reliable.
In her remarks, the CEO, Queen Moremi Ajasoro initiative, Olori Aderonke Ademiluyi-Ogunwusi, said the initiative is at the fore front of promoting everything that pertains to women empowerment, women leadership, sustainability for women and allowing women to become financially independent.
She disclosed that the empowerment cost millions of naira saying that the training will be extended to other local governments across the country.
Olori Ogunwusi said, “We are starting with 150 eventually we would train and empower at least one million women across the country to enable them to become sustainable, once they start the operation they can help farmers who want to bring their product from the farm they can help in school run they can help in so many things market women who need to take their product to the market they can help in so many things.”
She advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the training and use it to support their families.
Also speaking, the Business director, Simba TVS group, Rajesh Kumar urged the beneficiaries to ensured they obeyed traffic laws and maintain the tricycle so that it won’t cause them problem.
