Opinion:  Desperation to halt Tinubu’s march to Aso Villa, By Kola Amzat

Contained in the political hatchet-men ‘out of date’ Armory are sets of ‘old fashioned’ Arsenals which they unleash from time to time to gauge the mood of the nation and with the sole objective of undermining and railroading Bola Tinubu presidency project. They gullibly lay ambush to release a new weapon as soon as they realize that the one earlier unleashed on the nation has been detonated and discredited.

That has been their pre-occupation over the past few months. The likes of Jack Obiyan, Reno Omokri, Deji Adeyanju etc have suddenly became pawns in the chess game of the opposition parties.

They’ve submitted themselves as ready-made tools in the hands of Tinubu’s political foes and adversaries for the purpose of churning out blatant lies, falsehoods and fake news to the good people of Nigerians, all in a bid to undo and reverse the project that Almighty God has already completed.

They bombarded Nigerians with the wicked news that the APC presidential candidate is unfit for the office of president constantly alleging that, he’s frail looking and suffering from ill-health. But, they’ve suddenly came to the realization of the fact that none of them even though much younger, could do 50% of what Tinubu has been doing in the last 6 months.

 Tinubu visited at least two states in a day when he was canvassing and mobilizing for delegates’ votes. In-fact, there was a time he crisscrossed three (3) states within a day. He stayed hours on the podium while addressing delegates. He’s also usually sandwiched in the midst of hundreds. It has not dawned on them that one needs abundance strength and undoubted physicality to engage in what APC presidential candidate has involved in, in a couple of months back. Each time they become a subject of embarrassment and scorn on account of their misdeeds, they ported to another mischief.

They equally alleged that he won’t be able to cope with the rigors of the office of the president because his hands are always shaking. What a group of wicked souls! It’s sadden and most embarrassing that while the good people of Nigerians are always attentive to Tinubu’s message of audacity of hope and possibility to turn the fortunes of the country around, as always encapsulated in his visionary package, the likes of Jack Obiyan, Reno Omokri and others bother less on that and instead, continually focus on movement of his hands.

Is it not logical for Obiyan and coy to affirm to the Nigerian public that how many of the great thinkers and discerning minds of Tinubu age bracket are devoid of one defect or the other at that age? Is it even possible for all the functional parts of the body to remain the same at 70+ particularly for the great minds and men of vision like this Iconic politician who constantly saturate their minds to change the world paradigm, as well as registering their footprints on the sands of time by constantly preoccupying their minds with growth & development adventures?            

They’re not done yet. Sometimes in March, while Asiwaju Tinubu was delivering his message during his visitation to Alake of Egbaland, the same people completely jettisoned the purpose of the visit, went to town with the campaigns of calumny and concocted lies, that they spotted water in his Agbada attire and to them, that’s urine.

They made fruitless efforts to force this fabricated lies down the throats of the Nigerian populace. Fortunately, the people laughed at them with scorn as they rejected them and their falsehood. Jack Obiyan and cohorts became object of derision and ridicule.  But, they wouldn’t stop. They must pull Tinubu down by all means even when they already aware that they’ve lost the battle.

Characteristics of a drowning man who have lost all and resolve to fight dirty to the end, they’re again in town with another fake news. They alleged Tinubu didn’t attend primary and secondary schools even when the APC presidential aspirant has submitted to INEC sworn Affidavit that documents to that effect got lost when his household was bombarded and looted by the security gendarmes while he’s on exile abroad during the struggles for democracy.

It hasn’t occurred to them that only delusional minds would subject himself to such distraction that a First Class Accounting Graduate didn’t passed through the four walls of primary and secondary schools. If such person exists in academic history, Jack Obiyan, Reno Omokri and their ilk should avail the world of such.  

The adversaries continue to move in cycle while the Nigerian populace have collectively resolved in their minds that Tinubu is the Nigeria’s next President.  They continue to recycle the already discredited falsehoods and fabricated lies. They continue to make dastard attempts to test the will and resolve of Nigerians. They continually attempt to rewind the hands of clock.

For the members of opposition parties who might have recruited the Obiyans, Omokris and coy as hatchet men, we refer them to the Lagos State Parliamentary appearance of Tinubu in Sept 23, 1999 at ‘five (5) man ad-hoc committee session’ saddled with the responsibility to investigate the same allegations and how the Parliamentary Inquest had since cleared the ex-governor of allegation of perjury.  We also advise that they should availed themselves of the Supreme Court verdict on the same matter. 

It would be in the interest of the political foes and all those engaging in the drum beats of hatred and petty jealousy to consider the big picture and general interest of salvaging this country from those challenges that have delayed her journey to greatness. The mood of nation presently indicates clearly that generality of the people of this country have resolved to embrace Tinubu presidency, so it’s imperative for the likes of Obiyan, Omokri and coy  to stop distracting Nigerians by their recycled lies and falsehood.            

The nation is battling with insecurity with bandits, insurgents and Fulani herdsmen terrorizing people in all the nooks & crannies. Despite the spirited efforts already made by President Buhari in stemming the tide, this carnage has remain unabated. From the patriotic minds, what should be paramount in the minds of political hatchet men and Nigerian public are packages of strategy(s) as solutions for submission for the impending Tinubu presidency in order to bring this unwholesome development to a close.

Without doubt, Nigeria economy is in prostrate state. The manufacturing sector is almost in the state of extinction. The economy remains largely import dependent. The Petroleum sector is in shamble, with prices of the notable products that could make live meaningful and worth living for the populace been completely out of reach. Nigerians could no longer afford gas for domestic usage, neither PMS to power their vehicles. CBN has totally lost direction with governor of the all-important Bank neck-deep in the nation politics, coupled with policy somersault and inconsistency emanating from their Bank on daily basis. Jack Obiyan & coy and patriotic Nigerians should be in the vanguard of making plausible suggestions for the in-coming Tinubu presidency on how to restore orderliness in these strata of our national life.

The country men and women should also be patiently expecting Tinubu presidency to release policy pronouncements on the nation Infrastructures, Educations, Solid Minerals, new direction on the nation’s Refineries, Agricultures, ICT, Maritime, Foreign relations rather than listening to some set of people who deliberately want to rail road Nigeria.

The populace and political foes also need to be expectant on Tinubu presidency’s pronouncements on strategic initiatives and developmental model to comprehensively turn-around Niger Delta Region. Without any iota of doubt, the benefits accruing to the nation from Niger Delta Region massive endowments is far from optimum.

The gas resources is wastefully being flared. About half of oil being produced are being diverted. There is massive oil bunkering business on-going on the deep sea. Of course, model bringing and aggregating into one single account these huge revenues being diverted into several private accounts & treasury is enough to launch Nigeria into midst of elite nations. Tinubu bringing solutions to these challenges should be pre-occupying those who desire to stop Nigerian journey to growth and developments.

More importantly, Nigerian populace can’t wait to see how Tinubu presidency will reset the nation diverse ethnic groups on the path of unity & togetherness. Lest we forget; we’ve lost this important aspect of our life to strife, jealousy, mutual suspicion, unnecessary claim of superiority by one segment of the country etc.

Tinubu as a bridge builder of repute and mixer of gargantuan status has capacity to bring back the love, friendship and harmony that were the hallmarks of the people of this great nation pre, during and immediately before the Independence.  All these should interest the Obiyan, Omokri, Deji and coy rather than staying in the closed haven, always attempting to capsize Nigerian ship.
