OPM pastor celebrates marriage of adopted autistic son with N10 million gift

The general overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Chibuzor Chinyere, has announced that his adopted autistic son, Aboy, is married, following a controversial marriage proposal last week.
The wedding took place on Sunday, with the bride described as a “single woman of God.” Chinyere shared photos from the ceremony on his Facebook page and revealed that the union came with several incentives, including a N10 million wedding gift, a free house, an overseas vacation, and a promise of N20 million after ten years if Aboy remains alive.
The cleric also noted that Aboy, who previously required assistance to eat, has now begun feeding himself. Chinyere expressed faith that God would heal Aboy within six months, enabling him to speak.
“Aboy Chibuzor finally marries today, March 29, 2026. A single woman of God. N10 million wedding gift, free house, overseas vacation, and N20 million after ten years if Aboy is still alive. And many more gifts loading,” Chinyere wrote on social media.
He further clarified that Aboy’s wife is a single mother of three, and emphasised that she is a devout woman of God.
The marriage comes after Chinyere’s initial proposal sparked controversy, with critics condemning the offer of financial incentives as transactional and insensitive. The pastor had previously apologised, explaining that the offer was intended to address Aboy’s inability to understand his physical development and emerging sexual urges.
Members of the OPM congregation also contributed to the wedding gifts, with one donating N1 million and another N200,000.
Chinyere expressed gratitude for the support and described the day as a miracle, highlighting his belief in God’s power to transform Aboy’s life and capabilities.
