Opposition lacked ideology, coalition collapse not Tinubu’s fault — TDF

The Democratic Front (TDF) has said the collapse of the opposition coalition against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu validates its earlier position that the Presidency was not responsible for the internal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a recent statement signed by its chairman, Mallam Danjuma Muhammad, and secretary, Chief Wale Adedayo, the group said the disintegration of the coalition reflected the inability of key opposition figures to manage their ambitions.

TDF argued that the internal wrangling within the ADC and the eventual collapse of the coalition were driven by personal interests rather than external interference.

The group also accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi of contributing to the division within the opposition camp, alleging that both politicians prioritised personal ambition over collective political goals.

According to TDF, allegations that the Tinubu administration was behind the crisis were unfounded and have now been disproved by recent developments.

“The collapse of the ill-conceived coalition has exposed the false narratives being pushed by opposition elements against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is now clear that these politicians lacked coherent ideology and were driven purely by ambition for power,” the group said.

The statement further claimed that the failed coalition lacked a clear ideological direction or economic blueprint, insisting that its proponents were more focused on gaining power than presenting viable alternatives to Nigerians.

The group urged Nigerians to reject what it described as a fractured opposition, insisting that President Tinubu remains the best option for the country’s leadership.
