Former presidential candidate Peter Obi on Saturday briefly engaged with a group of youths playing basketball at the venue of the opposition political parties’ national summit held in Ibadan.
Obi, who arrived ahead of the commencement of the summit, took a short break to interact informally with the young players before proceeding to join other political leaders at the gathering.
The summit brought together numerous opposition figures across the country, including former vice president Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola and others.
The focus of the meeting was to discuss political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the event, the opposition parties announced plans to work towards fielding a single presidential candidate in 2027.
They also seized the opportunity to call for electoral reforms and raised concerns over the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
