Osimhen due in Paris next week for Al-Hilal medical

If available reports are anything to go by, Nigerian international Victor Osimhen may have finalized his move to Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal.

Reports have it that the Napoli forward, who was loaned to Galatasaray of Turkey by the Italian club, has agreed to undergo a medical examination with Al-Hilal, which is expected to take place on Monday or Tuesday next week in Paris.

According to multiple sources, the Nigerian striker has reached an agreement on personal terms with the Saudi club, which is eager to complete the medical swiftly in order to finalize the deal and have him available for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15 in the United States.

Italian journalist Jolanda De Rienzo confirmed that Osimhen has committed to being available for the medical early next week and could join the team immediately afterward to prepare for the tournament.

However, a key hurdle remains: Napoli has yet to accept Al-Hilal’s €70 million offer, which is €5 million short of the club’s valuation and the striker’s release clause.

Osimhen has been one of the most sought-after strikers over the past two summer transfer windows, attracting interest from elite European clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus, and Barcelona.

The 26-year-old, who recently missed the Super Eagles’ Unity Cup matches against Ghana and Jamaica, as well as the friendly against Russia due to club commitments, is now expected to travel to Paris on Monday for the scheduled medical.

Reports about Osimhen’s scheduled medical have given many Al-Hilal fans confidence that the deal is close to being completed.
