Osinbajo didn’t betray Tinubu, says Osun APC chieftain

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun State, Mr. Adelani Baderinwa said it is the inalienable right of the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to vie for any position in the country.

Baderinwa, in an interview with Westernpost in Osogbo said that working with somebody is not synonymous to being subservient to such person.

He stressed that in the case of Osinbajo, the word betrayal should not come about.

His said: “Most of the people commenting do not seem to understand the basis of life, that you have to work with somebody at a particular point in time does not necessary mean you’re subservient to that person. Working with somebody at any point in time is a mutual thing, if you’re not good enough, nobody will take you too serious to work with.

“It wasn’t only Yemi Osinbajo that served in the cabinet for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and so if anybody is making progress that means there is something particular about that person that others are seeing which is not present in others. So, when you work with somebody, it does not necessary mean you’re his subordinate per say, you have something special that attracted him to call you to come and serve.

“For Osinbajo, by virtue of being the Vice President of the country in the last 7 years of course, the only office he could aspire to is that of the president and it is his inalienable right to do so.”

When asked if the declaration of Osinbajo will affect Tinubu’s chances, Baderinwa said: “I don’t see his declaration tampering with Tinubu’s ambition. They are two different persons and they meant different things to many Nigerians and party leaders and I know that when the time comes, the people will choose between the two without rancour.”
