OSOPADEC Chair inaugurates committees to strengthen governance

The Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, has inaugurated the chairpersons and members of the Commission’s Board Committees to enhance transparency and operational efficiency.

According to a statement by the Commission’s Deputy Director of Information, Olusegun Ewata, the inauguration aligns with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s vision of strengthening institutional governance and driving sustainable development across oil-producing areas of the state.

Poroye charged the newly inaugurated committee members to demonstrate integrity, commitment, and teamwork in carrying out their duties, stressing that their roles are crucial to the Commission’s mandate of improving the welfare of people in the riverine communities.

He said the committees were established to ensure accountability and efficiency in key operational areas, including human resource management, project monitoring, education, health, and youth empowerment.

The committees include the Promotion and Disciplinary Committee chaired by Dr Ola Judah and the Projects and Monitoring Committee led by Hon. Raphael Adegboye. Others are the Women and Community Development Committee headed by Princess Aderonke Efurubu and the Health and Education Committee chaired by Hon. Adeyemi Abiye.

Also inaugurated are the Business, Investment and Public-Private Partnership Committee chaired by Hon. Bayo Anifowose and the Youth, Sports and Tourism Development Committee led by Hon. Lawrence Stephen.

Poroye reaffirmed OSOPADEC’s commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development, saying the committees would help advance the Commission’s goal of improving living standards in oil-producing communities across the state.
