OSSIEC releases timetable for LG govt election in Osun

The Chairman of Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Hashim Abioye has released the timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct of the Local Government elections in Osun State. come February, 22, 2025.
The schedule of activities was contained in a statement by Omoyemi Badru, the press officer of the commission.
According to Abioye, notice of election and the timetable/schedule of activities for the elections will be formally published in the Nigerian Tribune edition of Monday 19th of February, 2024, as the conduct of primary elections by political parties (which is to be monitored by the Commission) will commence on the 22nd July – 6th August 2024.
The statement reads: “It is noteworthy that each registered political party indicate the dates, venues and time scheduled for their primaries to the Commission not later than 21 days before the appointed dates.
“Final date for submission of list of candidates by parties, according to the timetable, is slated between 30th September, 2024 – 5th October, 2024, while the final date for the publication of names of already screened and qualified candidates is slated between 11th – 15th November 2024.”
The OSSIEC Chairman during the parley has promised that the forth-coming local government elections will be a giant leap forward in the history of local government elections in the State, assuring stakeholders of a credible, free, fair, peaceful and transparent election process.
Abioye also said that the Commission has a line-up of other activities connected with and/or incidental to the elections as scheduled in the timetable.
