A voluntary group under the aegis of the Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Movement, which is driving the political aspirations of the current Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, on Monday inaugurated ward coordinators across the 332 political wards in the state.
During the inauguration, the leaders and newly appointed coordinators of the movement pledged their commitment to intensive campaigning and massive mobilization for the emergence of Oyebamiji as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer in the party’s forthcoming primary and, ultimately, his victory in the 2026 gubernatorial election.
Speaking at the event, the immediate past Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, described the initiative as a necessary step to structure mobilization and campaign coordination for Oyebamiji’s candidacy.
Owoeye, who chairs the AMBO Movement, said the spread of the AMBO project has become a collective effort among like-minded individuals within the progressive family. He emphasized the need to extend grassroots mobilization for Oyebamiji across all political wards in the state.
He urged the new coordinators to serve as agents of peace, unity, and cohesion in their respective communities and to reflect these values in their engagements with grassroots voters to ensure collective victory for Oyebamiji.
Earlier, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, charged the new coordinators to work under their respective local government coordinators for a seamless campaign and mobilization process.
In his goodwill message, former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Hon. Sunday Akere, advised the coordinators, “Don’t abuse, don’t insult, and don’t fight. As ward coordinators, your duty is to ensure AMBO emerges victorious across our wards and units, regardless of the primary method adopted by the party, and ultimately secures victory in the gubernatorial poll.”
The leadership of the movement had earlier inaugurated stakeholders and local government coordinators across the 30 local councils and the Ife-East Area Office in Modakeke.
