Osun 2026: Claims Tinubu, Oyetola abandoned APC candidate false — Oyintiloye

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, have abandoned the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking on Sunday during the APC campaign tour of communities in the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Oyintiloye described the claim as false and the handiwork of opposition elements seeking to create disunity within the party.

He said Tinubu and Oyetola remain committed to the party’s success in Osun, adding that they are closely monitoring the campaign and providing the political leadership and strategic support needed for victory.

“President Tinubu and our leader, Oyetola, have never relented in their support for Oyebamiji. Anyone suggesting otherwise is spreading falsehood to mislead the public. The APC remains united, focused, and determined to reclaim Osun,” he said.

Oyintiloye said the APC leadership at both the national and state levels was working towards securing victory, noting that key stakeholders, including former governor Bisi Akande, APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru and Osun APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal, were actively involved in the campaign.

He urged party members across the state’s 30 local government areas and the Area Office to intensify grassroots mobilisation, engage voters and promote the achievements of the Tinubu administration, Oyetola’s leadership and Oyebamiji’s development agenda.

The former lawmaker also cautioned party members against violence and other acts capable of undermining the electoral process, urging them to remain united ahead of the poll.

“The victory of Oyebamiji is a collective project. With the support of President Tinubu, the leadership of Oyetola, the commitment of party stakeholders and the support of the people of Osun, the APC is firmly on course for victory,” he said.
