Osun Amotekun Corps mourns officer who died on duty

An officer of the Osun State Amotekun Corps, Ogundiran Sheriff, has reportedly died while on duty in the Ila-Orangun area of the state.
The late officer, who served as Provost of the B Division at the Ila-Orangun Command, was said to have collapsed unexpectedly and was later confirmed dead.
In a statement issued by the Corps Commander, Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, and made available to journalists in Osogbo by the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Yusuf Idowu Abass, the late Sheriff was described as a disciplined, loyal, and tireless officer who played a vital role in the success of the Corps’ operations in the area.
Omoyele said, “Ogundiran Sheriff was more than just an operative; he was a pillar of our operational command structure and a proud son of Osun who served with unwavering dedication to the security of our people.
“His sudden death is not only shocking but a painful and irreplaceable loss to the Amotekun Corps, his family, and the community he served with courage and honor.”
He also commended the officer’s professionalism, bravery, and steadfast commitment to duty, noting that Sheriff made significant contributions toward maintaining peace and security in Ila-Orangun and its environs.
The Corps Commander extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, colleagues, friends, and the entire Ila-Orangun community.
Omoyele reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to honoring the memory of fallen officers by upholding the values they stood for and assured that appropriate support would be provided to the bereaved family during this period of mourning.
