Osun Amotekun nabs 40-year old mechanical engineer, two others for stealing 18 goats

The Western Nigeria Security Network Agency code named Amotekun, Osun State Command has apprehended a 40-year old mechanical engineer, Segun Oladipupo and two others for allegedly stealing 18 goats. 

The two other suspects are Wale Samuel and Suleimon Garuba.

Field Commander of the Corps in the state, Amitolu Shittu, said on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested in Osogbo after some operatives of Oyo State Amotekun sent signal to the Osun command that some criminals were engaging in stealing goats.

According to him, based on the information, the Osun Amotekun swung into action and bursts some places where Oladipupo was picked alongside Samuel with a space bus they were using for the criminal activities.

Shittu further explained that the suspects were using the space bus bought for them by the receiver of the goats, who is now on the run.

“The suspects use beans and onions to cover those goats which according to them, were picked at different locations in Osogbo and Ibadan.

“We were notified by some operatives in Ibadan, Oyo State that some criminals were engaging in stealing of goats.

“We decides to burst some places and discovered some suspects with a bus carrying goats. They put beans and onions to cover them. During interrogation, they confessed to have stolen the animals,” Shittu said.

He urged residents of the state to be security conscious adding that many unthinkable things are happening in the society.

Shittu assured that the suspects will be handed over to the police and charge to court after full investigation has been concluded.
