The Osun State Executive Council has approved the dates for the interview phase of the ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, it was announced that the interviews will take place from September 9th to 13th, 2024, at designated centers across the six zones of the state.
The Council, presided over by Governor Ademola Adeleke, directed the Ministry of Education to conduct interviews for applicants who met the cut-off marks established after the recruitment test.
The Council noted that the delay in concluding the exercise was partly due to extended negotiations regarding the new minimum wage, which has now been resolved. The State Government has also set up an implementation committee to begin the process.
It also acknowledged the issuance of letters to teachers under the elongated service programme, noting that approximately two thousand beneficiaries have received their letters of engagement. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to address the staffing shortage in the state’s school system.
