Osun APC blasts Adeleke over fresh Supreme Court suit on LG allocations

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke for reportedly returning to the Supreme Court over the disbursement of local government allocations, describing the move as evidence of confusion and disorientation in his administration.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by its Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the APC said Adeleke’s latest action reflects an attempt to gain control of grassroots funds meant for good governance.

Olabisi said the decision to return to the apex court barely six weeks after withdrawing an earlier case on the same matter shows that the Adeleke government has reached a dead end.

“The way and manner the Osun State Government has been going about the local government allocations issue from the Federal Government underscore the fact that it lacks diplomacy, competence, and the basic understanding required to govern at any level, not to talk of a complex state like Osun,” the APC stated.

Olabisi further argued that the governor’s actions exposed his inability to effectively govern the state, especially when issues involve legal principles.

According to him, “One need not beat about the bush to conclude that Osun State is in serious trouble under the watch of Governor Adeleke, as almost everything has been topsy-turvy since the inauguration of his administration in 2022.”

“When the head is rotten, the body is inevitably in irredeemable crisis, which is the hallmark of a leader who is both pathologically and fundamentally challenged,” he added.

The APC maintained that Osun State has been thrown into what it described as a “big mess” by entrusting its leadership to Adeleke, insisting that governance under him has been marked by confusion and disorder.
