Osun APC queries Adeleke over alleged N1trn allocation, govt denies receipt

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of mismanaging nearly N1 trillion allegedly received by his administration between November 2022 and September 2025.
The party, in a recent statement signed by its chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, claimed Adeleke’s government received N25 billion from November to December 2022, N182 billion in 2023, N333 billion in 2024, and N310 billion between January and September 2025. The party said little of this allocation has translated into development across key sectors.
Lawal alleged, “In just three months, July–September 2025, the Adeleke-led administration received a whopping N124 billion, averaging N41 billion per month, yet Osun citizens continue to struggle due to the administration’s poor economic policies. No youth deserves the hardship imposed by this government despite the huge allocations received.”
APC further claimed that only a fraction of budgeted funds had been disbursed. Of N27 billion allocated to education capital projects, just N7.8 billion (29%) had been spent. In agriculture, N528 million of N5.9 billion (9%) was disbursed by September. Overall, N82 billion, or 43% of the capital expenditure budget, had been utilized, representing only 26% of revenue received.
Reacting, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, dismissed the claims as “devilish fabrication and mischievous propaganda,” asserting that the state has not received anything near N1 trillion as alleged.
Rasheed described APC as a party struggling amid low popularity, noting that the Governor has judiciously managed state resources to meet critical needs in health, infrastructure, education, business financing, cooperative empowerment, sports, agriculture, technology, workers’ welfare, and pensions.
He highlighted some achievements, including the construction of 322 kilometers of roads, renovation of 200 health centres, rehabilitation of over 100 schools, dualisation of major roads, construction of flyover bridges, and upgrading of Osogbo Stadium to international standards.
Rasheed added that the Governor had cleared half of owed workers’ salaries, offset pension debts, reduced Osun’s debt stock by 40% without borrowing, and enrolled 30,000 pensioners in the state health insurance scheme.
