Osun: APM criticizes Gov Adeleke over neglected infrastructure

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Osun State has expressed concern over Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration, accusing it of neglecting critical infrastructure projects.
Addressing journalists in Osogbo on Thursday, APM State Chairman, Adewale Adebayo, criticized what he described as the administration’s “vindictive and venomous approach” to governance, which he claimed has led to the abandonment of key projects such as the Olaiya flyover and mega schools.
The Olaiya flyover project, completed under former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, was designed to enhance road safety and reduce traffic congestion.
However, Adebayo alleged that the flyover has been neglected since Governor Adeleke took office in 2022, resulting in the deterioration of its aesthetic features, including fountains and green areas.
He also accused the Adeleke administration of sidelining mega school projects initiated by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola to improve educational standards in the state.
The APM called on Governor Adeleke to prioritize infrastructure development and maintain existing projects for the benefit of Osun State residents. Adebayo suggested restricting heavy vehicles from using the Olaiya flyover to ensure its longevity.
“We urge Governor Ademola Adeleke to reconsider his approach to infrastructure development in Osun State and prioritize the completion, maintenance, and utilization of these projects for the benefit of the people.
“A state’s development is not measured by new projects alone but by the sustained and inclusive growth of all sectors, building on the foundations laid by previous administrations,” Adebayo said.
