Osun begins distribution of rice palliative from FG

Osun State government has commenced the distribution of rice paliative received from the Federal Government.

The distribution exercise is being carried out through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and is expected to get to all the nooks and crannies of the State before the Eid El- kabir celebrations.

Speaking during the official distribution of the rice, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Stephen Niran Atidade, said the rice palliatives, which Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered to be distributed will, no doubt, go a long way in easing the hardship of the people in these trying times.

Atidade added that the gesture is the beginning of many good things to come from the present government, while urging residents of the State to continue to support and pray for the administration.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Moruf Adewale disclosed that the palliative will be shared among every organization including Labour Leaders, Civil Servants and people with disabilities throughout the state.

Adewale commended the transparent manner the process has taken, stressing that the Governor does not want anybody shortchanged.
