Osun Central elites endorse Oyebamiji’s candidacy, seek change in governance
The Osun Central Elites Caucus has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The caucus, in a recent statement signed by its chairman, Prof. Ajirotutu Hussein, said its decision followed what it described as a careful assessment of the political and developmental situation in the state under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.
The group criticised the Adeleke administration, alleging that despite nearly four years in office, the state had not recorded the level of development expected across key sectors.
It also questioned the cost and quality of some projects executed by the administration, while accusing the government of what it described as “idleness, retrogression, financial impropriety, nepotism and localism.”
The caucus said it believed Oyebamiji possessed the experience, qualifications and administrative capacity needed to provide a new direction for Osun State.
“We believe that Bola Oyebamiji possesses the more suitable qualification and experience to take Osun State forward, and it is our responsibility to give him all the necessary support,” the statement read.
The group also expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s chances at the polls, claiming that political momentum was increasingly shifting in favour of the APC candidate.
It urged voters to base their choice on the candidates’ records, experience and plans for the state, while calling on all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful electoral process.
