Osun Deputy Governor, PDP leaders resolve party dispute in Ife zone

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, has announced that the crisis affecting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife Federal Constituency has been resolved, describing it as a minor issue now settled.

The reconciliation meeting took place at Adewusi’s residence in Ile-Ife and gathered prominent party leaders including elders, youth representatives, and ward leaders.

Previously, PDP leaders in Ife Federal Constituency had issued a vote of no confidence against Adewusi, former PDP National Secretary Prof. Wale Oladipo, and Ife East PDP Chairman Hon. Olasunkanmi Makinde over alleged anti-party activities.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Adewusi said, “Let us not prolong this matter any further; what happened is in the past. I can assure you it was a storm in a teacup and has now settled. We’ve put everything behind us and turned a new page. There is no division among us. Politics often involves disagreements, but today, everything has been finally resolved.”

PDP State Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi added that the vote of no confidence on the deputy governor has been rescinded, stating, “We thank God that the PDP has internal mechanisms to resolve conflicts. The storm has passed, and peace will prevail in Ife PDP and Osun PDP as a whole.”

On whether the deputy governor will run alongside the governor in the 2026 governorship election, Bisi said, “We will cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, let us wait until the time comes.”

Senatorial leader for Osun East Central District, Hon. Akindele Olayiwole Famuyide, described the crisis as minor and quickly resolved through dialogue, saying, “It was a small issue, nothing serious, and it has been settled.”
