Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA) to commence free enrollment of all Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in the state’s health insurance scheme. He also approved the procurement of necessary equipment to assist the PLWDs.

This initiative, as stated by the Governor’s spokesperson Mallam Olawale Rasheed, aligns with Adeleke’s commitment to fostering an inclusive administration and delivering top-quality healthcare services to all residents of Osun State, irrespective of class, religious beliefs, or political affiliations.

Following the Governor’s directive, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, the Executive Secretary of OSHIA, announced the timetable for the free enrollment of PLWDs.

Beneficiaries are encouraged to visit their respective Local Government Secretariats and the Area Office in Modakeke for registration, which will commence on Monday, July 29, 2024, and run until Thursday, August 8, 2024, covering all nine federal constituencies.

Dr. Akindele emphasized that the enrollment process will help gather essential data and information about the medical conditions of PLWDs, ensuring they receive appropriate treatment.

Earlier this year, Governor Adeleke ordered the enrollment of all pensioners into the State insurance scheme to enhance healthcare delivery for retirees.
