Osun government debunks viral video, says Adeleke, Ooni have best of relationship

Osun State Government has reacted to the viral video on social media about Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, saying that the video was not the true reflection of what transpired between the duo.
A trending video, shared on various social platforms saw Adeleke delaying the reciprocation of a courtesy extended to him by the monarch.
The development was seen as a disrespect to the royal throne by many social media users.
However, the government described the viral video as a fake and doctored video, urging the people to ignore it.
A statement signed by Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, on Wednesday said the duo had earlier exchanged pleasantries at the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo, where Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi, Senator representing Osun Central district, bagged a chieftaincy title, before meeting at the reception last weekend.
Alimi stated that both Adeleke and Ooni Ogunwusi have the best of relations.
The statement reads: “The attention of the Osun State Government has been drawn to a doctored video being circulated on social media by agents of the opposition and fake news peddlers.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke and Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II enjoy the best of relations as evident by the cordial exchange of pleasantries at the Palace of Osemawe of Ondo at the coronation of Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla.
“We are by this medium appealing to members of the public to disregard the doctored video in its entirety while we have uploaded the original videos for public consumption.”
