Osun Govt allocates space for display of agricultural commodities

The Osun State Government has approved a section of Ayegbaju International Market in Osogbo for the display of agricultural commodities, aiming to provide affordable produce for the residents of the state.

The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, during a meeting with the leadership of the Southwest Commodities Farmers, Osun State chapter.

Rev. Jenyo emphasized that the state government, under Governor Ademola Adeleke, is committed to fostering an environment conducive to economic activities.

The farmers’ association had requested a large expanse of land to display their goods and sell them at reduced prices to the people of Osun.

While the state government reviews this request, the approved space at Ayegbaju International Market will serve as an interim solution.

Rev. Jenyo reiterated the government’s dedication to promoting economic and industrial growth, stating, “The government of Adeleke is resolved to promote economic and industrial growth of the State and will not take any chance in creating a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. You are to make use of the approved space at Ayegbaju International Market pending when the Government will release a large portion of land for you, for the display of your commodities.”

He encouraged the association to stay focused and committed, aiming to ease the usual challenges faced in the exchange of agricultural products with the public.
