The Chairman of Ife East Area Council in Osun State, Hon. Adekunle Adewumi, has presented a proposed ₦3.9 billion budget for the 2026 fiscal year, pledging to replicate President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, Adewumi said the appropriation bill was presented before the council’s Legislative House, led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Adekunle Adeyeye, at the council secretariat.
He explained that the proposed budget is aimed at promoting sustainable development, strengthening service delivery, and addressing key socio-economic needs of residents of Ife East Area Council.
According to the council boss, the budget aligns with the Renewed Hope vision of inclusive governance, fiscal responsibility and grassroots transformation, with priority areas including infrastructure development, education, healthcare, youth empowerment and improved administrative efficiency.
“The intention of this budget is to further support the reforms of President Bola Tinubu. I promise that if this budget is approved, I will drive the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots. This is the only way residents can feel the impact of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government,” Adewumi said.
Responding, the Leader of the House, Adeyeye, commended the executive arm for the timely presentation of the budget, promising that the legislative arm would give the proposal due consideration in the interest of the council and its residents.
