Osun must never be reduced to political bargaining chip- Group
A group, The Osun Voters Assembly, has described the growing speculation of a political deal between the presidency and Governor Ademola Adeleke as “dangerous, deeply transactional, and anti-progressive”.
The group in a statement issued on Monday, said Osun must never be reduced to a political bargaining chip.
The Osun Voters Assembly cautioned against any attempt to foist Adeleke on the APC ticket, either through cross-party endorsement or elite manipulation.
“No serious leader remains in the PDP today with statewide support. Why reward failure with further opportunity?”, said the Osun Voters Assembly.
The group urged the APC national leadership to uphold merit, loyalty, and grassroots sentiment in determining the party’s future in Osun.
