The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Osun Axis, has praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving a new minimum wage of N75,000 for workers in Osun State.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Afolabi Oluwatobiloba Faruq, the newly elected Chairman of NANS/JCC Osun Axis, commended Governor Adeleke’s administration for prioritizing the welfare of workers, noting that the decision would positively impact students whose parents are civil servants.
Faruq highlighted the governor’s achievements in education and developmental policies, pledging the association’s support for Adeleke’s re-election bid in 2026.
He said, “We commend Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving the N75,000 minimum wage for workers in the state. This decision will significantly benefit students, as many of our parents are civil servants. It will ensure that their financial stability supports our education and well-being.”
He added, “We also acknowledge Governor Adeleke’s remarkable strides in education and development. As partners in the state’s progress, we pledge to support his administration in achieving its agenda.
“Under Governor Adeleke’s leadership, students have witnessed unprecedented attention to their interests. Since Osun State’s creation in 1991, no administration has demonstrated such commitment to student welfare.
“We, the students of all higher institutions in Osun State, declare our unwavering support for his government and will mobilize for his re-election in 2026.”
Faruq also condemned the recent attempted murder of the Osun Transport Management System Chairman, Mr. Alowonle, and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad Head, Mr. Moses Lohor, who has been linked to the incident.
He assured students that his administration would prioritize their security and welfare, while fostering unity and cooperation among NANS/JCC members.
