Osun NSCDC partners ICPC to tackle corruption

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC ),  Osun State Command,  has assured the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences  Commission  (ICPC) in the State of its commitment to collaborate in the provision of personnel to support its operation.

The NSCDC Commandant in the State,  Dr Akintayo Adaralewa gave the assurance during a visit to the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of ICPC, Mr. Demola Bakare. 

This was made known in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo by the spokesperson to the Corps, ASC Adeleke Kehinde.

The Commandant commended the efforts of the commission in fighting the menace of corruption which has eaten deep into every sector in the country, saying there is need to join forces together to tackle corrupt practices in all ramifications.

He therefore admonished everyone to live above board and be determined to collaborate with the commission in the fight against corruption noting that concerted efforts of everyone is needed to make Nigeria better. 

While responding, the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner in Osun State, stressed the need for collaboration between the agencies to stem the tide of corruption in the country, 

He  said one of the challenges of the commission in the state, is that members of the public do not give relevant information that could help eradicate corruption, urging the corps to share information and intelligence in their conduct of activities.

Bakare further revealed the willingness of the commission to partner with NSCDC on sensitization programmes for Personnel, while thanking the Commandant for the visit which according to him was an opportunity to know other areas where the two law enforcement agencies can work and assist each other in the fight against corruption.
