Osun NSCDC rescues homeless teenage boy

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command has rescued a homeless 17-year-old boy, Sunday Ademola.

The Commandant of the Corps, Emmanuel Ocheja confirmed this to newmen in Osogbo on Thursday.

The Commandant who spoke through the Public Relations Officer, Atanda Olabisi, said a middle aged man, Ayoola from Owode Ede reported to the Ede North LCDA Division of the Command that a teenage boy was found roaming about along the Osogbo-Ibadan highway naked and his hands tied to his back.

The middle aged man who thought the boy was mentally ill, later discovered that he has no mental health challenges after questioning him.

The Divisional Officer, Ede North LCDA, Mr. S. O Adewumi was said to have taken the boy to the divisional office for questioning and medical attention.

The boy was said to have bruises on his head, and was suspected to have been beaten mercilessly by person (s) yet to be identified.

After given the victim first aid treatment, he was interrogated and in his words, revealed his name and said that he was from Onira’s compound, Inisha.

NSCDC then sent the boy’s name and picture to the said compound but no one seems to recognise him.

However, the case has been reported to the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs. He was later taken to Correctional and Rehabilitation Center, Testing Ground, Osogbo hoping to unite him with his parents soon.
