A 15-year-old girl, Quadija Abimbola, was found wandering alone in Owode-Ede, Osun State, on January 19, 2025.
In a statement signed by the spokesperson for the Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kehinde Adeleke, Quadija was seen roaming the streets at 1:00 a.m. before being taken to the Owode-Ede division of the NSCDC by a good Samaritan.
Quadija reportedly traveled with her mother, Mrs. Aishat Abimbola, and three siblings from Lagos to Osun State for New Year’s celebrations.
She explained that after the festivities, her mother took her to Owode-Ede market to sell detergent, promising to pick her up after the day’s sales but never returned.
According to the NSCDC spokesperson, efforts to locate Quadija’s parents or relatives have so far been unsuccessful.
The NSCDC Osun State Command is now appealing to anyone with information about Quadija’s family to come forward and help reunite her with her loved ones.
