Osun PDP chairman affirms loyalty amid opposition coalition shift

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Sunday Bisi, has declared that the party in the state remains firmly committed to the PDP.
Bisi made this known while reacting to the ongoing adoption of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a new platform by the national opposition coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
He emphasized that Osun PDP will not be part of the current coalition movement, insisting that the party remains focused and unshaken in its loyalty to the PDP platform.
“We remain with PDP. We are in PDP, we are not going anywhere. I can assure you, we are not going anywhere.”
While acknowledging the right of other politicians to form coalitions, Bisi noted that such alliances are part of the democratic process.
“Before APC came to power in 2016, they also formed a coalition. There’s nothing wrong with those people coming together to form a coalition,” he said.
When asked if the exit of key national figures in PDP such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar will affect the party’s chances in the 2027 elections, Bisi said, “this will not be the first time Atiku will leave PDP and PDP won in his absence.”
