Osun PDP faults APC over alleged consensus list, AMBO denies report

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has faulted the All Progressives Congress (APC) over a leaked consensus list purportedly containing names of pre-selected candidates for the 2026 and 2027 elections, describing it as a reflection of internal confusion and desperation within the opposition.

In a statement signed by its State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the PDP said the alleged list demonstrates that the APC remains entrenched in the politics of imposition and self-interest, while Osun people have moved forward under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The ruling party described the purported consensus arrangement as a recycled plan among “tired and deceitful politicians,” maintaining that the people of Osun have rejected such political practices.

“What they call consensus is nothing but confusion repackaged in the old way. The people have not forgotten their years of deception. Osun will not go backward. Come 2026/2027, the PDP will win again — not merely through politics, but through performance and the people’s conviction that Osun must never return to the years of waste and sorrow,” the statement read.

In response, the Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Media Front dismissed the so-called “consensus list” as false and misleading.

In a counter-statement signed by its Coordinator, Adebayo Adedeji, the group accused the PDP of fabricating the document to create disaffection within the APC, sow discord among party leaders and members, and portray the opposition as undemocratic.

According to AMBO, “There is no consensus arrangement to select any particular individual as deputy (running mate) should our principal be chosen to represent the party in the 2026 governorship election. Likewise, there is no approved list allocating senatorial slots to anyone.”

“The AMBO Movement remains confident that when the time comes to select the party’s flag bearers for the 2026 and 2027 elections, every eligible member of the APC will be duly consulted, involved, and carried along in accordance with democratic principles,” the statement added.
