Osun PDP to hold parallel governorship primaries despite NWC intervention

Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State is set to hold two parallel primary elections for the July 16 governorship election in the state, Western Post reports.

Our correspondent gathered that all efforts to reach an agreement between the two factions led by Soji Adagunodo (with Wale Ojo as state chairman) and Sunday Bisi respectively, proved abortive.

From all indications, there will now be a parallel primary contrary to the peace move by the National Working Committee of the party that statutory delegates lists be use for the conduct of the primary to avoid any litigation at the end of the day.

While the Ojo-led faction will have their primary at WOCDIF Centre, the Sunday Bisi-led faction are to hold theirs at stadium, Osogbo.

As of the time of filling this report, delegates are already gathered at the WOCDIF Centre.

Details later.
