Osun police arrest drug addict for stabbing 20-year old girl to death

Men of the Osun State Police Command have arrested one Abdulafeez Shorinmade, a suspected drug addict over alleged murder of Rofiyat Rasaki, a 20-year-old apprentice in Iwo area of the state.

Shorinmade allegedly stabbed the deceased with scissors on her neck while returning home after closing from her workplace.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yemisi Opalola, in a statement in Osogbo on Saturday, said the suspect committed the murder on Wednesday under the influence of hard drugs.

 Opalola said: “On the 12th October, 2022 at about 9:30pm at Kajola Area, Iwo, one Abdulafeez Shorinmade of Feesu, Iwo suspected to be under the influence of drugs armed himself with a pair of scissors and stabbed one Rofiyat Rasaki, 20 years old on her neck and she bled to death. Suspect fled the scene.”

The police spokesperson noted that the suspect was arrested when police officers went after him.

Opalola stated that the corpse of the victim has been deposited at the Iwo General Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

She added that the suspect also stabbed and injured an 18-year-old girl, Sawiyu Nasrup on her chin.

“On getting to Soba compound, he equally stabbed another female by name Sawiyu Nasrup, 18 years old on her chin. The injured person was rushed to the hospital where she was treated and discharged,” she added.
