Following the intervention of the Governing Council of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, the Management of the institution has directed students to resume, on Monday, 21, March as full academic activities would commence in all programmes of the institution.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) of the institution had on Monday 14th March, 2022 ordered its members to embark on two weeks warning action.

A statement issued by the Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Busari Salawu on Friday stated that the Dr. Abiodun Ismail Saka-Layonu (SAN) led council of the institution expressed displeasure over the call for industrial action by the leadership of ASUP without any discussion with the Council.

Saka-Layonu urged members of ASUP and other labour unions in the institution to always embrace dialogue and consultation before embarking on such actions subsequently.

He assured that his Council would not deprive the workers their rights as they discharge their duties, in line with the policy trust of the Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration in the state.

He urged them to eschew conflicts and embrace peaceful discussion with the Governing Council and Management of the institution.
