Osun positioning for $2 trillion creative economy, says Governor Adeleke
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that the state is positioning itself to benefit from the estimated $2 trillion global creative industry, describing it as a key driver of youth empowerment and economic growth.
The governor made the remarks over the weekend after attending a music concert in Osogbo organised by his son, Adebayo Adeleke also known as B-Red, alongside other artistes.
Adeleke said the creative sector remained a “gold mine” with huge potential for young people, adding that his administration was deliberately engaging the entertainment space to unlock opportunities.
“The creative sector is a gold mine. It is an area I know holds huge potentials for our youth and that is why I personally attended the free concert,” he said.
He added that Osun had the capacity to emerge as a hub for entertainment and creative enterprise, noting that an annual concert would boost local commerce and support upcoming artistes.
“Osun is destined to be the hub of global entertainment. We have all the big stars and the network,” the governor said.
Adeleke called for the expansion of the initiative, urging organisers to improve on the success recorded and scale it up in the coming years.
Speaking on the event, the organiser, B-Red, said the concert recorded massive attendance despite rainfall and expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their support.
