Day 3: Osun protests intensify

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo
The #EndBadGovernance protests persisted in Osun State as demonstrators took to the streets of Osogbo for the third consecutive day on Saturday.
The protesters, who gathered at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, moved through key locations including Old Garage, Oke-fia, Government Annex, Dada Estate, and the popular Dele Yes Sir and Olaiya junctions.

Speaking with journalists at Freedom Park, Akin Asifat, a protester, expressed disappointment with President Tinubu’s silence regarding their demands.
Asifat stated, “The President has not addressed the nation on our demands, acting as if nothing is happening. We expect him to come out, address the nation, and provide solutions to our demands.”
He criticized the government’s inaction on the fuel price hike, saying, “Despite our protests, some places are still selling fuel at N1000 per liter. We expect the President to provide an instant solution, but he has refused.”

Asifat emphasized that while protesters want to resume their normal lives, they will continue demonstrating if the government fails to meet their demands.
He warned that the protests may extend beyond ten days if the government does not respond.
