The senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing unresolved internal crises and lingering legal battles within the party.
Fadahunsi, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Industry, made this known in a letter dated June 12, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward 4 Chairman in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
He said the resignation takes immediate effect and was necessitated by irreparable and irreconcilable differences as well as protracted legal disputes that have rocked the party at the national level since the 2023 general elections.
“I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedeviled the party at the national level after the 2023 general elections,” the letter read.
He added that the decision followed consultations with political associates, family, and friends.
Fadahunsi urged the party to accept his resignation in good faith.
