Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to security as 1,150 new members of the Amotekun Corps were inducted into the state’s security network agency.
Speaking at the induction ceremony held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Adeleke assured the corps that his administration would provide the necessary tools and equipment to enhance their operational safety and effectiveness.

The governor announced that the security outfit now operates under a sound legal framework, addressing loopholes in previous legislation.
“Under the new legal structure, the service has a full range of opportunities to be a rewarding member of the security architecture. As part of legal reforms, the service will also be considered a beneficiary of the planned security trust fund. Once the trust fund takes off, Amotekun will be able to access logistical support, among other benefits,” he said.
Adeleke also highlighted a reform agenda his administration is implementing, including expanding personnel numbers, upgrading training in law enforcement, and improving operational equipment and logistics.

He urged the new cadets to demonstrate patriotic commitment, remain dedicated to fighting crime, and uphold integrity by avoiding corruption and misconduct.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of Osun Amotekun, retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Wale Abass, called on the governor to approve the immediate gazetting of the operatives to ensure their formal integration into the public service structure. He noted that this move would boost morale and enhance efficiency.
The newly inducted Amotekun Corps members underwent a three-week intensive training program covering unarmed combat, intelligence gathering, crime prevention techniques, and community policing.
