Prince Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the newly elected Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, has pledged to uphold and strengthen the legacy of unity within the region.

Haastrup made this commitment during a solidarity visit by members of the Ijesaland Development Assembly following his selection as the successor to the late Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

He emphasized his determination to collaborate with traditional rulers, chiefs, and elites to foster a stronger bond of love among the Ijesa people, ensuring sustainable unity in the land.

Expressing his appreciation for the various social and infrastructural development projects championed by Ijesa clubs and organizations, Haastrup promised to partner with them to further advance Ijesaland’s progress.

The business mogul highlighted his vision of enhancing unity while focusing on agribusiness. His goal is to position Ijesaland as a major food hub for Osun State and the South West region.

The Owa Ajimoko III-elect also disclosed an ongoing collaboration with a large-scale agro-enterprise in Nasarawa State to establish a mechanized farm in Ilesa.

The farm will specialize in rice and other food crops, with the success of this initiative relying heavily on the support and participation of the community.

During the visit, Ijesa elites, led by Mr. Supo Shadiya, pledged their unwavering support to the new monarch and expressed their commitment to restoring Ijesaland’s glory. Shadiya prayed for wisdom, knowledge, and longevity for the Owa Obokun-elect as he prepares to assume the throne.

The delegation included prominent figures such as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Ilesa, Hon. Gbenga Onigbogi; Alhaji Lateef Bakare; Colonel Akin Moses; and Prince Atayero.
